In this video you will learn how to set and unset your master account and how to update your browser instance in MailCom's expert.tools. MailCom expert.tools is a browser application that provides versatile business data research and enhancement tools. In the following, I will first of all explain what a master account and a browser instance is. After that, I will walk you through how to set your master account and then how to update the browser instance. And at the end of this video, I will show you how to unset a master account.
Let me first explain what a master account is and when you have to set it. With the help of the master account we manage our customer relations, so you could also call it the customer account. In the master account we store important information such as invoice data, contact information and credit balances and usage. Usually when you subscribe to expert tools, the master account will be set by default. Therefore, normally you do not need to set your master account. Setting the master account manually is required if you want to work on another computer or browser than the one which you used for subscribing to expert.tools. So you can continue using credits from your customer account.
Now I will explain what a browser instance is. By creating a new master account, which is explained in another video that you can find in the video description, you get one browser instance. That means that you can use expert tools in exactly that browser, machine and account from which you subscribed to expert tools. So you can use expert.tools in no other browser, from no other user account or another machine. Currently, we only sell single user licenses which means a single browser instance. We are working on corporate licenses so that several browser instances will be possible soon.Currently, the license model is based on how many browsers are being used in parallel. Therefore it is not possible to connect multiple browsers or computers to the same master account at the same time.
After you have understood what a master account and a browser instance is, I will show you how to set a master account. As you can see here, I have already uploaded an address file. You can also see that my browser instance is not connected and my master account is not set. Before you set a master account you need to know your master account id and password. You can find the master account id on the browser which you used to subscribe to expert.tools. On this machine go to settings and click on the ‘Set master account’ button. In the new window you should be able to see your existing master account id. In case you have lost this information click on “Forgot password?” in the login window or contact our mailcom support. We will help you.
Let’s now set the master account: Please go to the File menu, then click on settings and finally click on the Set master account button. Now the login window shows up and here you have to type in your master account id and your master account password. After you have done that, click on Continue.Now you have set your master account and have access to your customer account data from the current browser, user account and machine.In the new window that appears, click on Connect this instance. This is how you connect the current browser, user account and machine to the master account.As you can see now, the browser instance status changed to Valid. Please note that from this point in time your other browser instance, user account and machine were disconnected from the master account. So on all other browsers the instance status will then change to Invalid while the master account is still registered in that browser.If you want to connect your old browser again to the master account, just click on the Update browser instance button under settings and type in your master account account id and password. Now the new browser instance got disconnected and the original browser instance is connected again.
Now at the end of this video, I will show you how to unset your master account. This is necessary if you want to create a new master account or it is useful if you are an agent operating accounts for several customers, internal divisions or subsidiaries.To unset the master account, you just need to go into the File menu and then click on settings. There you click on the ‘Unset master account’ button. And finally, in the new window that appears, click on Unset. Your master account has now been unset. You can now set a new master account or create a new and additional subscription to expert.tools.
